  • Make sure you change %username% with the actual username of your system (which is Admin in my case). Please see the screenshot for reference.
  • This will open the list of available packages on your system. Scroll down to find the one with name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe. 
  • Right click on this folder and click on Properties. Here you will see the Attribute with name Read-only marked.
  • Unmark this attribute of Read-only and click on Apply and then OK button.
  • Now delete the folder Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe. This will uninstall Microsoft Edge from your system. Now we need to reinstall Microsoft Edge.


Once you have successfully uninstalled Microsoft Edge from your system, it is time to install it back on the machine. This one is simple. Just follow these easy steps to reinstall Microsoft Edge on your machine.

  • Click on the search button at the bottom left and type Windows PowerShell. Right-click on Windows PowerShell and choose Run as Administrator. 
  • Now type the following command within the Windows PowerShell.
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml" -Verbose}

This will reinstall Microsoft Edge on your machine.
