  1. Millimeter waves

Devices around us or at our home are using a very specific frequency on the radio frequency spectrum and those frequencies are typically 6 Ghz.

And these frequencies started getting more crowded. As more devices come online it started getting more traffic and slower services.

So research experimenting with broadcasting on millimeter waves. Millimeter frequency falls between 30 to 300GHz. This section of the spectrum has never been used before for mobile and other devices. Opening it means having more bandwidth and high speed for everyone.

But there is an issue that millimeter-wave can’t travel through buildings or other obstacles and they tend to be absorbed by plants.

And to solve this problem we need technology number second small cells.

Massive MIMO also has its own complication, today’s cellular antennas broadcasts in every direction at once and all of them are crossing signals which could be a serious problem and this problem will be solved by our fourth technology Beamforming.

Beam forming is like a traffic signaling system which allows antennas to broadcast signals in a specific direction instead broadcasting in all direction.

Suppose, you are in a cluster of buildings and trying to make a phone call and the signals around you are criss-ss crossing each other, here a massive MIMO technology-based station will receive all the signals and keep track of the timing and direction of their arrival.

Then, by using a signal processing algorithm it specifies where the signal is coming from and sends the signal back to that specific user phone.

It has also its complexities, sometimes it bounce individual data packet in all directions and as a result, we get coherent of data packet and to solve this problem we will use our 5th technology which is full duplex.

Suppose, a train loaded with the data running on a track and another train is coming in its opposite direction so here it’s going to get interference. In the same way, when incoming and outgoing data is passing through a single frequency it gets interference. But fu duplex allows to send and receive data on a different frequency and end up the problem of inherent complexities.

Now it’s time for the world to move from 4G network to high speed 5G network. Already many countries like United States, South Korea, and others are using 5G technologies. But in India still it is not launched. As per the plan of government and telecom companies 5g network will be soon in India. 5g network is on the way with the revolution of the communication industry and the experience of mobile phone users.
